Project Monitoring - 27th January

Week 2:
During my first lesson I redrafted my 2nd article and continued to write my 3rd article; however I still did not finish this article and will have to be done in my spare time to get myself caught up and back on track. I also relooked at my 1st article again and made appropriate changes that were suggested by my peers when I did a focus group.
During my second lesson I planned for my photoshoots by getting in touch and meeting up with my models; however when I did this one of my main models informed me they were unwell and unable to attend the photoshoot the next day. Although I had another model lined up I was able to postpone and change the day of my photoshoot to a week later, which was fine with this model and my other model taking part. This was to set me back, but I decided it wasn’t going to make a huge difference. During this lesson I got my props sorted and prepared ready for my other phototshoot planned tomorrow.

The photoshoot was part of my homework as I booked it in my spare time rather than in my lesson time as I thought this would make better use of my time in lessons. The photoshoot went really well and got loads of shots, I took a lot more than I needed to ensure that I could get the best image. This gave me the chance to choose which images I wanted instead of only having a select few. My model worked really well and did everything I asked of her. We spent a lot of time making sure the lighting was set up correctly. When looking at the images afterwards I was very happy with how they came out and how they looked. They turned out better than I had hoped they would.

I set up all my layouts so when next week came I was ready for start putting the altogether straight away. I have ensured that I have already set out boxes for each element on the page, so that when I come to add titles, images, text and any page furniture I know where to put everything which will save me a lot of time.

As one of my photoshoots got cancelled this gave me time to start and edit my images. I decided to cut out the model from the background of the image as the images for one of the articles would look better with this done. I knew I wanted a colour behind the images and possibly wanted some to overlap and to do this they would need to be cut out. Once I started to edit the photos I realised that it was going to take much longer than I had originally thought so I already knew I would need to spend extra time editing these certain images. I also edited the levels, brightness and contrast and tested the auto colour and auto tone, too see if it made the images look better.

 Images I began to edit:
